I will be flying to Houston this weekend for a wedding and would like
to try to squeeze in a few letterboxes (we fly in the day before the
wedding and fly home the day after). I am the mother of the 2 flower
girls (as well as hubby being a groomsman) so I will have little free
time, as I will need to get them ready. I looked at both LbNa and
Atlasquest and found a TON of boxes in Houston (my best guess is
100+). Any suggestions for some easy, drive-by boxes?
Thx for any suggestion.

Hi,
Awww... I haven't been letterboxing since moving to Houston, and I'd
join you for the fun except that I'm expecting company on Saturday
myself.
Wishing that it was a different weekend...

I"m not sure "where" in Houston this is, but we are flying into
George Bush airport and are staying at a hotel on Dallas Street and
the reception is at the Crystal Ballroom at the Rice. Hope that
helps as to where in Houston we will be.

Yep, that helps. You'll be staying smack dab in downtown Houston.
The boxes that are closest are:
Houston Heritage, Howard Hughes, Strings Attached,
Emma/Franklin/Nurse/Spy, Magnolia Crossroads & Time Flies, Tribute
to England #1, Crimson Roar, Murder by the Book, and Walk the Dog.
If you have time coming from or going to the airport, I really
recommend going to Mercer Arboretum, which is just north of the
airport. At Mercer (listed with Spring as the city), there are 8
boxes: Bamboo to You, mercer monarch, geisha doll, coy box,
backwards box, tibetan tiger, end of the trail, and tree man. It's
not exactly drive-by, but you can spend as much or as little time as
you like.

Thx for the suggestion, and all the off-boxing info. I was hoping
to go by the Beer Can House and I know my daughter would love the
tibetan tiger...just for the name, she LOVES tigers. I will go onto
LbNa to get the clues and figure out which ones to do.
Happy Boxing! :D

Hey Houstonians,
I'll be returning to an old Stompin' Ground (Pasadena/Clear Lake
Area) for 1 week in mid-June. Do you have any recommendations for
sweaty (no-doubt) box hunting in that area?
